Mexico is located in south America. Due to the geographical location, Mexico is able to produce tropical fruits and
vegetables throughout the entire year. Mexico has fertile soil, making it better for the produce. Its weather makes it
great for tourists, as well as attractions such as their beaches and oceans.
Mexico is a very joyful country with a lot of patriotic events. It has many festivals and celebrations. Mexico created a party item found everywhere in America called the piñata.
My favourite thing about the Mexican culture is the food. Mexico has some delicious, original dishes. They have quesadillas, burritos and tacos, just to name a few. There's also some pretty good drinks, including 'orchata' and 'champurrado'.
The biggest language in Mexico is Spanish, however there is a growing amount of English, as well as some German.
Just as in any other country, Mexico has many different collectives of people with different spiritual beliefs.
According to Wikipedia1, 82.7% of the population identifies as Roman Catholic, 6.6% as Protestant, 1.4% as Jehova's Witness, 1.9% said Other Religion, and 7.4% said unaffiliated or unspecified.
In an ethnic sense, Mexico is really quite diverse.
Mestizo2: 'Mestizo' is one of the ethnic groups in Mexico. Most of Mexico identies as Mestizo. Mestizo Mexicans do not consider themselves indigenous or with a Spanish cultural heritage. This is the base of Mexico's national identity.
Indigenous: Prior to the Europeans, Mexico's peoples did not have a shared identity. The Indigenous identity was a result of a lack of assimilation from the Euro-Mestizo ethnic group. Being Indigenous became a scourge to their society.
There are a lot of different cultural celebrations in Mexico, especially during holidays. Some holidays that exist in Mexico and are celebrated include Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), Dia de Los Muertos (aka Day of the Dead, November 2nd) and Dia de Los Reyes (aka Day of the Wise Men, January 6th).
